a) Bidders must attend a mandatory site meeting at Canoe Landing Park, 95 Fort York Blvd,Toronto, ON on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 commencing at10:00 am.
Bidders will meet in the central plaza, next to the public art installation (see location map below). Site meetings may not be available at any other times. Separate meetings with Bidders will not be held.
b) Bidders MUST attend the site meeting to familiarize themselves with the work and ascertain the full extent of the Deliverables required.
c) Bidders must sign in with the City’s representative at the mandatory site meeting and clearly indicate on the sign-in sheet the name of the firm they are representing for their Quotation to be considered.
d) A record of questions and answers as deemed relevant from the site meeting will be distributed in the form of an Addendum and posted on the online system. The City reserves the right not to answer questions at the Site Meeting but will answer questions that arise at the site meeting as part of an Addendum.
Bidders submitting Bids that do not attend the mandatory site meeting SHALL be declared Non-Compliant.

Scope of work:
Every Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond to secure the execution of the form of Contract by the Bidder. The Bid Bond shall be in the form provided and the amount specified in the Tender Submission Package. The Bid Bond shall be signed and sealed by the Bidder and by a guarantee surety company, authorized by law to carry on business in the Province of Ontario, and having a place of business in Ontario, and shall otherwise be acceptable to the City of Toronto Treasurer.
Failure of a Bidder to submit a fully completed Bid Bond in the form enclosed in Part 5 – Tender Call Particulars, Section 2 - Tender Submission Package, shall result in the Bid being rejected as non-compliant. Submitting a photocopy of the Bid Bond is not acceptable.
The following summary, is provided for the convenience of Bidders.
The scope of work involved in this Tender shall consist of the supply and installation of all materials as detailed on the project drawings and Specifications; including all labour, tools and equipment necessary for the completion of the Work. No equipment, labour, materials or storage facilities shall be provided by the City unless noted otherwise on the project drawings.
The work generally includes but is not limited to:
Site/tree protection fencing
Clearing and grubbing
Demolition and removals
Environmental remediation of existing sub-soils including excavation, removal and disposal of existing contaminated soils, and supply and installation of clean fill cap, in accordance with project soil management plan and environmental health and safety plan, under direction of Qualified Person (retained directly by City).
Rough grading and excavation
Concrete playground border
Concrete seat walls c/w wood slat tops
Rubber playground safety surfacing (includes sub-surface drainage system and connection to existing STM system)
Relocation of existing fountain vault (includes refurbishment of vault lid and mechanical/ electrical work within vault)
Relocation of existing splash pad vault (includes refurbishment of vault lid and mechanical/ electrical work within vault)
Replace splash bad bollard activator
STM, SAN, Water and Irrigation servicing
Electrical servicing (includes adjustments to existing service, new electrical cabinet, bonding of all metal components, etc.)
Topsoil and fine grading
