SCOPE OF WORK:
1. Rehabillitation of ID119 Dufferin Street Bridge under Beltline Trail
2. Dufferin Street under Beltline Trail, Located on Dufferin Street between Roselawn Ave. and Hopewell Ave., within Ward 8 Eglinton – Lawrence (formerly Ward 15), in the City of Toronto.
3. This Contract entails the rehabilitation of the Dufferin Street Bridge under Beltline Trail, coating structural steel, repair railing system, traffic management for vehicles and pedestrians, protection and construction staging work, as well as other miscellaneous work.
The scope of work includes, but not limited to the following:
4. Survey and layout;
5. Traffic and pedestrian control for the duration of construction;
6. Supply, install, maintain and remove the access and protection which shall include a working and debris platform for the work;
7. Survey and provide utility locates; provide necessary provisions to ensure continued services of utilities;
8. Supply, install, maintain and remove environmental protection for coating structural steel, handrails, and CSP culvert;
9. Blast clean, coat, and paint structural steel;
10. Clean, metalize and paint handrail, blast clean and coat CSP culvert;
11. Remove delaminated and deteriorated concrete from abutment walls and wingwalls;
12. Repair corrugated steel culvert;
13. Replace sidewalks in culvert;
14. Seal ballast wall, and abutments; and
15. All other works as shown on the Contract Drawings and documents.

Completion Date
1. Regardless of the date of award of the contract or the date of the Order to Commence or the date of the Order to Commence Site Work, the Contractor will be required to complete all work including all site restorations, clean up, and rectify any and all deficiencies no later than October 30, 2019;
2. The Contractor is to commence work within five (5) days of receiving a written Order to Commence from the City of Toronto or the Contract Administrator.
3. The anticipated award date will not be earlier than June 15, 2019 and not later than thirty (30) calendar days from this date.
4. Work that can commence after the Order to Commence is given, but before the order to commence site work, shall include the locating of utilities on site, preparing shop drawings, ordering bridge bearings, securing approvals and ordering materials. Site work, with the exception of the locating of utilities, is not to start until directed in writing by the Contract Administrator.
5. The award of the contract and the order to commence are conditional on all approvals being in place. Continuous operation shall be carried out until the work is complete.

The project shall be divided into 3 stages on Dufferin and 2 stages on the Beltline Trail (the following is only a general list of work items; refer to the Contract Documents for details):
Stage 1 - Dufferin Street Construction work at east side of bridge and Roadway.

Close traffic on northbound lanes, and shift traffic to west side of Dufferin Street. Details are shown in the Contract Drawings. Perform structural steel coating and painting, east abutment rehabilitation, and east csp culvert repairs and coating.

Stage 2 - Dufferin Street Construction work at west side of bridge Roadway

Close traffic on southbound lanes, and shift traffic to east side of Dufferin Street. Details are shown in the Contract Drawings. Perform structural steel coating and painting, west abutment rehabilitation, and west csp culvert repairs and coating.

Stage 3 - Dufferin Street Construction work at center of roadway.

Close traffic on center two lanes, and shift traffic to curb lanes of Dufferin Street. Details are shown in the Contract Drawings. Perform structural steel coating and painting.

Stage 1A - Beltline Construction work on north side of bridge.

Stage 1A work will take place concurrently with Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3. Details are shown in the Contract Drawings.
Perform structural steel coating, handrail repairs and painting and stairway rehabilitation.

Stage 2A - Beltline Construction work on south side of bridge.

Stage 2A work will take place concurrently with Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3. Details are shown in the Contract Drawings.
Perform structural steel coating, handrail repairs and painting and stairway rehabilitation.


MANDATORY EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The Bidder must have the following experience in order to be considered for award:

• 1. Must have completed a minimum of two similar infrastructure projects with a minimum value of $250,000 Canadian dollars each (excluding taxes) in the past ten years. At least one of these projects must include blast cleaning and structural steel coating and painting in according with OPSS.MUNI 911 and OPSS.MUNI 1704.

• Certificate of Recognition (COR™) Requirement, or an Equivalent (such as ISO 45001) OHS Certification.
