Scope of work:
The scope of this RFQ includes the supply of all labour, materials and equipment necessary to inspect welds and structural steel as and when required for a one (1) year period from the date of award, with the option to renew for two (2) additional years.
3.1 The Vendor shall:
3.1.1 Provide visual, radiographic and ultrasonic weld inspections according to CSA W59 procedures in shop or field. Perform any necessary cleaning of the plate material adjacent to the weld to be ultrasonically tested. In this regard, it should be noted that the use of an oil-type film between the scanner and the plate would not be permitted on some projects in consideration of subsequent coatings to be applied to the steel.
3.1.2 Inspect structural steel according to CAN/CSA-S16.1
3.1.3 Provide immediate report to the Executive Director's representative onsite.
3.1.4 E-mail written reports of the results including contract number, contractor name and location on project, related specification, conclusions and/or remarks within three (3) business days of testing to the Executive Director of Engineering and Construction Services, consultants if involved, and the resident site inspector.
3.1.5 Submit written reports.
3.2 All testing personnel shall report to the resident site inspector when entering the site and before leaving the site. Safety orientation shall be required for any technician entering a wastewater treatment plant or water treatment plant. Security passes shall be required at some plants.
3.3 The Vendor must make available, on an as-needed basis, qualified staff, materials, supplies and equipment to perform quality assurance testing specified in this RFQ.
