Site meetings will not be available at any other times.
Bidders must sign in with the City’s Representative at the Mandatory Site Meeting at the designated date and time for their Bid to be considered. Individuals attending the meeting must sign in and clearly indicate on the sign in sheet the name of the firm they are representing.
Bids submitted by Bidders that do not attend the mandatory site meeting SHALL be declared non-compliant.

Every Bidder shall submit with their Bid a Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the Bid amount and will agree to provide a Performance Bond and a Labour and Material Bond for the due and proper performance of the Work, each in the amount of 50% of the Contract amount including an extended 24 month warranty period.
The Bonds will be issued by a licensed surety company authorized to transact business in the Province of Ontario and shall be maintained in good standing until the fulfilment of the Contract.

Scope of Work
The following is a summary for the reference of bidders.
Please note that full specifications and designated substances report follows this summary and drawings are provided in a separate, bound volume accompanying this tender document.
The scope of work involved in this Tender shall consist of the supply and installation of all materials as detailed on the project drawings and specifications; including all labour, materials, tools, equipment, overhead, profit, coordination, warranty, etc necessary for the completion of the work. No equipment, labour, materials, tools, etc or storage facilities shall be provided by the City unless noted otherwise on the project drawings.
• GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK
o Contractor is responsible for location of underground utility services. Contractor shall give notice of time of commencement of work at least 48 hours prior of such commencement and shall request in all instances a physical mark-out of the location plants and services within the contracted area and shall supply the City with such certificates.
o Install and maintain temporary fencing throughout work period.
o Complete all removals necessary for the execution of this project. Refer to plan and specifications.
o Install tree protection fence, as required by City of Toronto Tree Protection Policy http://www.toronto.ca/trees/pdfs/TreeProtSpecs.pdf.
o Contractor is responsible for removing all debris resulting from demolition, completely off site on daily basis. All dumping charges are to be included in the contract price. Protect municipal sidewalk and roadways from heavy vehicular damage and keep any roadways, lanes, sidewalk, clear of debris resulting from work.
o Access route and staging/storage area used by contractor should be restored to the original conditions. Site restoration shall be to the satisfaction of the Project Manager.
o Contractor shall guarantee and maintain the work in an efficient condition for a period of one year from date of completion and shall remedy and make good any defects or omissions occurring during such period. The completion date shall be the date of acceptance by the City.
o Supply and install Skatepark, Playground, and Park improvements (including walls, curbs, paving and furnishings) as indicated in drawings and specifications.
Mandatory Submission Requirements Experience and Qualifications
The Bidder must have the following experience in order to be considered for award:
• The bidder must, as the General Contractor, have completed (including testing and commissioning), and must have achieved Substantial Completion within the for at least three (3) projects within the past (7) years as General Contractor.
• The projects referenced must of involved the construction of a new cast-in-place Skatepark (Minimum 550 m2 (6000 sq.ft)) and Park Improvements having a minimum dollar value of $750,000 Canadian dollars each (excluding taxes).
• The referenced cast-in-place Skatepark must have similar transition heights and blends consistent with design in this contract. The Skatepark projects’ experience and qualifications must be met by either the contractor or sub-contractor.
• At least one of these projects must include Public work (eg. government agency) including coordination with operations including tie-in with existing systems.
• The Bidder must ensure that the proposed Shotcrete Nozzle Operator is qualified under the ACI Shotcrete Nozzleman Certification Program and has 5 years of experience in shotcrete as applied to cast in place concrete Skateparks. Proof of certification to be attached.
• Quality Assurance
TPV Poured-In-Place Playground
o Minimum of 10 years' experience in the manufacturing and installation of TPV poured-in-place playground
o Successfully completed a minimum of five(5) TPV poured-in-place safety surfacing projects in a Public Work environment
o Certified by manufacturer for installation of TPV poured-in-place safety surfacing
o a. The Contractor shall employ or retain as a subcontractor an ISA certified Arborist, having a minimum of five (5) years arboriculture experience.
o b. Proof of certification or training shall be submitted with Quotation package
o c. The Arborist shall supervise all tree cutting
