Nathan Phillips Square gets fresh every Wednesday

Wednesday is a great day to visit Nathan Phillips Square during the summer.
Every Wednesday from June 1 - October 5 the Nathan Phillips Square Farmers'
Market offers an incredible selection of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, fresh
flowers and more direct from Ontario farmers. It's the perfect lunchtime
escape at the Nathan Phillips Square Farmers’ Market every Wednesday from 10am
- 2pm.

Additionally, for seven summer weeks - from July 13 to August 24 - the market
is complemented by the addition of live open-air concerts under the banner
Fresh Wednesdays.

The line up for Fresh Wednesdays (concerts noon - 2 pm) is impressive. Three
local Torontonians, known as The ChoirGirlz (July 13) kick the summer series
off with their heavenly harmonies and uplifting countries tunes. Karen Manion
Jazz (July 20) has sold out shows at Toronto’s premiere jazz venues, The
Montreal Bistro, and Top O’ The Senator. Adrien Breda (July 27) brightens the
stage with his soothing vocals and swinging lyrics. The following week,
Angelica Di Castro (August 3) captivates her audiences with her rhythm and
melodic lyrics. Jevon Rudder & Marshall Dane (August 10) describe their sound
as “Soul Pop with a twist of Funk". Fridge Magnets (August 17) is a guitar duo
with a folk pop style that is innovative and fresh. In the last week of the
series the Sherie Marshall Trio (August 24) offers jazz favorites.

Plus, stop by Nathan Phillips Square for free reusable water bottles to the
first 100 people each Wednesday, courtesy of Toronto Water.

Admission is free. Nathan Phillips Square is located at 100 Queen Street West,
easily accessible by the 501 Queen Street TTC streetcar, the Yonge subway
(Queen Station exit) or the University (Osgoode Station exit) subway lines.

Fresh Wednesdays is one of a series of four free programs that take place in
Nathan Phillips Square and Mel Lastman Square throughout the summer. These all
ages events reflect Toronto’s vibrancy and activity in the summer months.
Canada Day celebrations (Friday, July 1), Fresh Wednesdays (July 13 - August
24), Tasty Thursdays (July 14 - August 25) and Sunday Serenades (July 17 -
August 28) offer a combination of live music, an international BBQ and
fireworks to add to Toronto’s free sensational summer festival line-up.
