Temporary traffic stoppages and closures for VE-Day parade this weekend

A number of roads will be affected by VE-Day anniversary celebrations on
Sunday, May 8.

These roads will be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
  • Fort York Boulevard, from Bathurst Street to north of Lake Shore Boulevard
  • Fleet Street, from Bathurst Street to Strachan Avenue

In addition, there will be a march starting at 11:30 a.m from Moss Park
Armoury. The march, which will move along Queen Street, from Sherbourne Street
to Bathurst Street, then south on Bathurst Street, will involve temporary road
closures. This march will join a Victory Parade beginning at 1 p.m. from Fort
York Armoury. The parade will travel from Fort York Boulevard to Lake Shore
Boulevard, then west on Lake Shore Boulevard through the Princes' Gates and on
to the grounds of Exhibition Place. In all cases, once the participants have
left the area, the roads will be fully re-opened.

Events will continue in the Ricoh Coliseum and Heritage Court until 6 p.m. All
events are free and open to the public.

For further information about these closures, check with Transportation
Services’ Road Info line at 416-599-9090 or visit the City’s Web site at www.toronto.ca/transportation.
