New sports pad opens at Bathurst Heights
  
Councillor Howard Moscoe and Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation will open a
new sports pad dedicated to Paul Watson and Michael Lewis, community leaders
and peace-keepers, who were victims of violence. The pad was funded in part by
the Ontario Works Incentive Fund. Nike contributed funding for the basketball
court in recognition of Philip Dixon’s 2003 victory as the Nike Battlegrounds
King of Toronto.

A community BBQ, children’s activities and a basketball tournament will follow
the official ceremony.

Time: 11 a.m.
Location: Bathurst Heights Secondary School, 640 Lawrence Avenue West (at
Varna, just east of the Allen Expressway)
