Partial closure of intersection at Yonge and St. Clair starts Friday and continues through weekend

The intersection of Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue will be partially closed
from Friday, October 7 at 6 a.m. until Tuesday, October 11 at 7 a.m. to
accommodate work being done as part of the TTC track reconstruction project for
St. Clair Avenue.

Traffic on Yonge Street will not be able to travel through the intersection at
St. Clair in either direction.

One lane of westbound traffic on St. Clair Avenue will be able to go through
the intersection, but eastbound traffic on St. Clair will be re-routed south
onto Yonge Street. During the closure, motorists are encouraged to use
alternate routes such as Avenue Road or Mount Pleasant Road.

While one lane of traffic in each direction on Yonge Street will be open from 7
a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, additional work on sidewalks will continue until
Thursday, October 13. As a result, access to the curb lane will be restricted
during this time.

There will be a number of changes to TTC routes during the closure, including:

- 97C/97D Yonge buses that normally terminate at St Clair subway station will
turn back north at Davisville subway station.

- 97B rush hour bus service and the 320 Yonge night bus (Steeles to Queens
Quay) buses will divert northbound via: Yonge Street, east on Pleasant
Boulevard, north on Avoca Avenue, west on St. Clair Avenue, north on Alvin
Avenue and west on Heath Street to resume route. Southbound buses will divert
via: east on Davisville Avenue, south on Mt. Pleasant Road, west on St. Clair
Avenue, south on Avoca Avenue and west on Pleasant Boulevard to resume route.
Note: buses will serve the St. Clair subway station in both directions.

NOTE:

- 512 St. Clair Temporary Replacement buses and the 312 Night buses will
continue to operate on their current routing to and from the St. Clair subway
station during the intersection work.
