Nathan Phillips Square illuminated by 100,000 lights and fireworks every Saturday night
The 39th annual Cavalcade of Lights presented by Scotiabank illuminates Nathan
Phillips Square for the holiday season with more than 100,000 dazzling lights,
Toronto’s official Christmas tree, and fireworks show every Saturday night at 7
pm from November 26 to December 17.

Saturday, November 26 marks the first lighting of Nathan Phillips Square’s
Cavalcade of Lights display with a holiday music concert by Canadian R&B heart
throbs In Essence and a rare appearance by pop diva esthero, and a 30-minute
spectacle and fireworks show integrating dance, music and special effects.

The production features a magical Ice Queen who travels through the crowd
breathing fire and life into the lights and performance areas throughout the
Square. The Ice Queen is the creation of U.K.’s World Famous. Performances
include a North American Native hoop dance by two-time world champion hoop
dancer Lisa Odjig, fire performers from Toronto’s Circus Orange, tap and hip
hop dancers from Thrive! Entertainment, whirling dervishes from the Arabesque
Dance Company and award-winning Rock Opera Diva Patrizia. The show culminates
in the lighting of Toronto’s official giant Christmas tree and a spectacular
pyrotechnic finale.

The celebration continues at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturdays, December 3,
10, and 17 with a reprise of the spectacle and fireworks show.

Admission to Cavalcade of Lights events at Nathan Phillips Square is FREE.
Nathan Phillips Square is located at 100 Queen Street West. Take the TTC Queen
Streetcar (501), the Yonge Line subway (exit Queen station) or the University
Line (exit Osgoode station).

Cavalcade of Lights is one of Canada's foremost festivals of illumination.
Along with the lights and fireworks at Nathan Phillips Square, Cavalcade of
Lights also features energy-efficient LED lighting displays in 14 Toronto
neighbourhoods, a hop-on, hop-off neighbourhood bus tour that allows passengers
to shop by day and tour the lights by night, and tourism hotel packages with
the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. Cavalcade of Lights was recently honoured
with the prestigious Best Festival Award by the Canadian Event Industry
Association and the Silver Award for Best Tourism Marketing Campaign by the
Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation
