Councillor Raymond Cho will address the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development in New York
Toronto - Councillor Raymond Cho will represent the City of Toronto at the
United Nations in New York on April 15, 2005 1:15 p.m. The Commission on
Sustainable Development will hear from Councillor Cho on the Role of Education
in Building a Sustainable Toronto.

Dr. Raymond Cho will bring with him greetings from Mayor David Miller and
Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone, who is chair of the Roundtable on the Environment.
Both the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor are strongly committed to integrating the
principles of sustainability into all aspects of management and operations
within the City and to building solid partnerships with business, community and
educational organizations and institutions to strengthen the City’s current and
long-term environmental, social and economic well-being.

Along with Councillor Cho, the delegation includes Councillor Shelley Carroll
who has been a tireless advocate for education to support sustainable
development and Mr. Calvin White, CEO of the Toronto Zoo, an organization that
has an extensive program that links research with broad community sustainable
development education.
