City of Toronto officially opens new Smithfield Skateboard Park

Councillor Suzan Hall (Ward 1 Etobicoke North) and representatives from Toronto
Parks, Forestry and Recreation will officially open Toronto’s newest

The new portable skateboard park provides a safe, but challenging recreation
opportunity for youth including a variety of ramps, benches and grades. This
extreme sport facility is the result of a successful partnership between the
Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation and the Ontario Works Incentive Fund.

The opening event includes greetings, cultural dancing and a ribbon-cutting
ceremony. Skateboard demonstrations and skills instruction for all ages will be
offered from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Date: Saturday, May 14

Time: Noon to 2 p.m.

Location: Smithfield Skateboard Park
175 Mount Olive Dr.
(east of Martin Grove Avenue, north of Finch Avenue West)
