Flag-raising for Pride Week
Mayor David Miller and Councillor Kyle Rae (Ward 27, Toronto Centre-Rosedale)
will join Pride co-chairs Fred Pitt and Natasha Garda in raising the Rainbow
flag to kick off Pride Week.

Date: Monday, June 20
Time: Noon
Location: Podium roof, City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

Pride is a week-long cultural festival for Toronto's lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender, two-spirited and transsexual community. This is the 25th annual
celebration of Toronto’s strong, vibrant and proud community. Forte, the
Toronto men's chorus, will perform at the event.

Ode'min Kwe singers will also perform at the flag-raising. Their performance
will not only celebrate Pride, but also help mark June 21, National Aboriginal
Day. This year marks the 16th anniversary of the founding of the Two-Spirited
People of the First Nations -- a Toronto-based non-profit organization whose
clientele consists of Aboriginal lesbians and gays in Toronto.
