‘Making Green Roofs Happen’ in Toronto
On Wednesday, November 23, Mayor David Miller, Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone and members of the Roundtable on the Environment will host a special public meeting at City Hall to discuss options for implementing green roofs in the City of Toronto. Members of the public will have the opportunity to make a five-minute deputation to share their comments and suggestions.

Date: Wednesday, November 23

Time: 6 to 9 p.m.

Location: Council Chamber, City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

The meeting will include a presentation on the discussion paper “Making Green Roofs Happen,” including the results of the “Environmental Benefits and Costs of Green Roof Technology” study, an overview of how other cities encourage green roofs, an outline of the proposed standards for green roofs and the options for implementation in Toronto in 2006.

Following the public meeting, the Roundtable on the Environment will make recommendations to City Council for the implementation of the Green Roofs Strategy.
