Temporary pedestrian bridge for Finch Ave. W.

The construction of a temporary pedestrian footbridge on the north side of
Finch Ave. W. over Black Creek has begun, and will be completed this Monday,
September 5. The bridge will allow pedestrian traffic to cross Finch Ave. and
ensure that children returning to school this Tuesday can use Finch Ave. safely.

Pedestrian access will be limited to the north side of Finch Ave. W. Temporary
lighting will also be erected on the bridge. The cost of the bridge is
estimated at $250,000.

Finch Ave. sustained heavy damage during a storm on August 19. There is no date
for completion of repairs and reopening of the road to motor vehicles.
