Media Advisory: Montgomery’s Inn hosts art installation and theatrical performance

Date: Saturday, June 4
Time: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Montgomery’s Inn, historic museum, 4709 Dundas Street West

City of Toronto Culture, Montgomery’s Inn, in partnership with Jumblies Theatre
and the Toronto Community Housing Corporation, hosts Where I’m From, a unique
artistic experience.

Visitors will enjoy a fanciful blend of visual installation, poetry and
performance as they move through the 19th century environs of Montgomery’s
Inn. The performances will be repeated at intervals throughout the afternoon.

Where I’m From is the result of eight weeks of work by a handful of talented
artists, two youth leaders and a group of young community members.
Participants examined their community and its issues through after-school
workshops and discussions with artists, the community and each other. The work
is the culmination of these experiences.

Funded through the Ontario Works Incentive Fund and Theatre Ontario Theatre
training Program, it is part of a three-year community arts project centred at
Montgomery’s Inn and the community of Mabelle.
