Cavalcade of Lights Toronto’s City-Wide Holiday Celebration

With brilliant fireworks, sparkling lighting displays, a calendar of festive
events and one-of-a-kind tours of some of Toronto’s most unique neighbourhoods,
Toronto’s Cavalcade of Lights, presented by Scotiabank, is one of Canada’s
foremost festivals of illumination. Capturing the magic of the holiday season,
Cavalcade of Lights takes place from November 26 – December 31, 2005 across
Toronto.

A tradition spanning close to four decades, experience the wonder of Toronto’s
Cavalcade of Lights at City Hall’s Nathan Phillips Square, featuring a
breath-taking display of 100,000 lights, the city’s magnificent Christmas tree
and spectacular fireworks. The Cavalcade of Lights First Lighting celebration
on Saturday, November 26, 7 pm marks the premiere lighting of Toronto’s
official Christmas tree. Live entertainment will fill revelers with the spirit
of the season and fireworks will illuminate Toronto City Hall. Music and
fireworks continue Saturday nights, December 3, 10 and 17, 7 pm.

The Cavalcade of Lights festival goes citywide with neighbourhood lighting
displays expanding in 2005 from seven neighbourhoods to 13. Ten neighbourhoods
GreekTown on the Danforth, Bloor-Yorkville, Downtown Yonge, The Kingsway,
Queens Quay Harbourfront, St. Lawrence Market, The Junction Gardens, Kennedy
Road, Korea Town and Rosedale Main Street will alight as one on Saturday,
November 19, 6 pm. Bloor West Village and Yonge Lawrence Village will light
their displays on Thursday, November 17, 6 pm and Little Italy on Wednesday,
November 16, 6 pm.

From flowing fountains of light to 10-foot illuminated angels suspended on
high, these brilliant creations serve as the focal point for a one-of-a-kind
Cavalcade of Lights neighbourhood bus tour. Hop-on the Cavalcade of Lights bus
tour and hop-off to shop in unique neighbourhoods by day and view the beautiful
lights by night. This hop-on, hop-off opportunity allows for a worry-free
