City of Toronto and CUPE local 416 reach tentative settlement

City negotiators and representatives of Toronto Civic Employees’ Union, Local
416 (CUPE) reached a tentative settlement for a new collective agreement today.
As a result, City services will continue uninterrupted.

“I would like to congratulate both negotiating teams for achieving a deal that
is fair for workers, fair for the City, and good for the people of Toronto,”
said Mayor David Miller.

The agreement will be put to a ratification vote by the union local in the days
ahead, following which it will be subject to Toronto City Council approval.
Details of the new collective agreement will not be released until it is
ratified by both parties.
