Participate in the City's budget process

The final opportunity for the public to attend and contribute to the City of
Toronto's 2005 Operating and Capital Budget process is on Monday, February 7 at
9:30 a.m. A joint meeting of the Budget Advisory Committee and Policy and
Finance Committee will be held in the Council Chamber of Toronto City Hall, 100
Queen St. W.

There are three ways to have your opinion considered:

1. Make an oral deputation (presentation of your views) at this meeting. There
is a five minute time limit. If you want to make an oral deputation, please
contact the City Clerk in person on Monday, February 7 in the Council Chamber.

2. Submit a written deputation.

3. Send a letter to your City Councillor. For information on how to contact
your City Councillor, check the City's Web site at www.toronto.ca or call Access Toronto at
416-338-0338.

Toronto City Council will review and approve the final budget at the Council
meeting this February 21- 23.

2005 Online Budget Simulation
New for 2005, the Finance Department has created an on-line simulation of the
2005 City of Toronto budget at www.toronto.ca/budget 2005/budgetworkbook.htm.

This interactive program is designed to help the user understand what makes up
the proposed 2005 City budget. It's a visually enhanced environment where you
set your own budget for the City and see the impact on residential property
taxes.
