City of Toronto officially opens new West Birkdale Park
  
Councillor Michael Thompson (Ward 37 Scarborough Centre) and representatives of
Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation will officially open Toronto’s newest
playground and greenspace at West Birkdale Park, located on Midwest Road, just
west of Midland Avenue.

The new, fully-accessible park features a junior and senior playground with
swings, and a variety of climbing apparatus, for young families and children to
enjoy. The park also features a sun shelter, a series of paved walkways, and
perennial planting beds.

The opening event includes an official ribbon cutting and community BBQ. Parks,
Forestry & Recreation staff will be offering a variety of activities for
children of all ages from 11 a.m. to
2 p.m.
