St. Lawrence Market’s annual customer appreciation night|

Merchants of Toronto’s historic St. Lawrence Market are preparing to hold their
annual Customer Appreciation Night, featuring lively entertainment and samples
of merchants’ foods.
Date: Thursday, April 7
Time: 7 to 9:30 p.m.
Place: St. Lawrence Market (South), Front and Jarvis Streets
Merchants of the South Market building are giving their customers free
invitations, which must be shown at the door for admission to the South Market
event. Invitations, however, are not required for the Farmers Market Customer
Appreciation Night and Toronto Dollar Party that will be held in the North
Market building the same evening.
Entertainers will be going back and forth between the two buildings to perform
at both sites.
The entertainment will feature music and dance by the Foggy Hogtown Boys,
Isshin Daiko drummers, the Toronto Saxophone Quartet, the New Orleans Hot
Shots, the Maracatu Nunca Antes percussion troupe, the Hanmam Dance Ensemble
and the Grupo Folclorico Portugues de Oakville dance group, and the Bialy
Orzel-White Eagle Polish Song and Dance Ensemble.
Many Farmers Market vendors will be on hand in the North Market building to
showcase their products and answer questions about the Farmers Market - a great
Toronto tradition that is now in its 202nd year. Another North Market highlight
on April 7 will be the Toronto Dollar Party’s community fundraising auction, in
which local "Women of Power" will auction off signed brooms. There will also be
award presentations, such as the "Frankly Bob Awards" that honour talented
local musicians and artists. And of course people who visit the North Market
will find excellent food and refreshments too.
Media representatives are invited to attend the market’s customer appreciation
night in the two market buildings, with admission to the South Market simply by
showing media accreditation.
