Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation hosts sixth annual Toronto Youth Games
Councillor Shelley Carroll (Youth Roundtable member) and representatives of
Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation will officially open the sixth annual
Toronto Youth Games 2005 on Saturday, August 6 at 10 a.m.

Toronto athletes 13 to 16 years of age from across the city will compete in
volleyball, track and field, wheelchair basketball and swimming. The Games are
a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie and the love of sport.

The festivities get started with the opening ceremonies on Saturday at 10 a.m.
with the parade of athletes. The Games culminate with the medal presentations
and closing ceremonies on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Pepsi, Bell Canada, the
Department of National Defence/Canadian Forces and Pizza Pizza are the sponsors
for this year's Youth Games.

Dates: Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7 (rain or shine)
Times: Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Centennial Park, 256 Centennial Park Rd., (northwest corner of
Renforth and Rathburn Roads)
