Toronto Fire Chief welcomes 43 recruits
  
Fire Chief Bill Stewart will welcome 43 recruits on their first day of a
23-week intensive training program in becoming Toronto’s newest firefighters.

When: Monday, June 13
Time: 8:30 a.m.
Place: Toronto Fire Academy Auditorium, 895 Eastern Avenue

Some topics of study for the new recruits are as follows:

  • Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

  • Forcible Entry
  • Fire Streams
  • Ladders
  • Size Up
  • Search and Rescue
  • Salvage and Overhaul
  • Fire Cause Determination
  • Car and Structural Firefighting
  • Special Operations like Auto Extrication
  • Pump and Aerial Operations
