Media Advisory: Seniors tough out training camp for Toronto Challenge

At the official launch of the Toronto Challenge, a team of seniors will
demonstrate some of the training camp exercises they have been doing for 10
weeks to gear up for this annual fundraising event. Also helping launch this
event, which features 1k and 5k walks and the Monster Mortgage.ca 5k run, will
be Councillor Gay Cowbourne (Ward 44 Scarborough East), Chair of the Mayor’s
Roundtable on Seniors, and representatives from sponsoring partners, including
presenting sponsor CARP - Canada’s Association for the Fifty-Plus.

Date: Monday, June 6
Time: 10:45 a.m.
Location: Port Union Community Centre, 5450 Lawrence Ave. E. (at Port Union)

The Toronto Challenge is an exciting event that attracts over 2,000
participants and is expected to raise over $500,000 in support of residents in
Toronto Homes for the Aged and organizations serving seniors across Toronto. It
offers people of all ages a fun way to celebrate diversity, celebrate seniors
and support their community.

Training camp participants, Councillor Cowbourne and sponsor representatives
