Media Advisory - Youth-created mural is Jane-Finch Neighbourhood Action initiative
Councillor Maria Augimeri, Ward 9 York Centre, member of the Mayor’s Advisory
Panel on Community Safety, will unveil a new mural in Downsview Park. The mural
project is a Neighbourhood Action initiative within the Jane-Finch community.

Date: Saturday, November 26
Time: 11 a.m.
Place: Downsview Park, 60 Carl Hall Rd. (Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue)

Through an innovative employment opportunity, five youth have spent every
Saturday since August challenging their visual arts skills to design and create
the outdoor mural in Downsview Park. The mural project has been extended for
five weeks for the youth to create an indoor mural, which is currently underway
at the site.

The youth mural project is a collaboration between the City of Toronto Culture
Division, Downsview Park and Downsview Park Arts Alliance.
