Mayor and Jewish War Veterans of Canada launch new memorial in Earl Bales Park
  
Mayor David Miller and Deputy Mayor Michael Feldman will officially launch the
new "Flames of Memory" war memorial, in honour of Jewish War Veterans. The
event is being held in conjunction with the Jewish War Veterans of Canada, to
recognize the many men and women who fought for freedom in this, and to mark
the Year of the Veteran.

The new memorial, designed by Daniel Libeskind, is expected to be completed in
July 2006.

The event includes greetings, a sod-turning ceremony, parade and brief
reception to follow at Earl Bales Community Centre located in Earl Bales Park.
