REVISED Media Advisory: City of Toronto officially reopens Esther Shiner Stadium
Deputy Mayor Michael Feldman (Ward 10 York Centre), Councillor David Shiner
(Ward 24 Willowdale), and representatives of Toronto Parks, Forestry and
Recreation and various user groups will officially reopen the newly renovated
Esther Shiner Stadium located on the northwest corner of Bathurst Street and
Finch Avenue West.

The multi-sport stadium originally opened in June 1984 and renamed in honour of
former Controller and Deputy Mayor for the City of North York, Esther Shiner,
in July 1988, has been upgraded with a new artificial playing surface and
running track.

The reopening event includes greetings, an official ribbon cutting, soccer
skill demonstrations and competitive games.

Date: Saturday, September 17
Time: 9:30 a.m.
Location: Esther Shiner Stadium, 5720 Bathurst St. (north of Finch Avenue West)
