Media Advisory - Toronto children and youth face-off with Mats Sundin at Wellesley Community Centre
  
On Sunday, December 4, representatives from Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation, and Toronto Maple Leafs’ Captain Mats Sundin will officially launch the Esso NHL Street Buds program at its newest location, the Wellesley Community Centre.

The Esso NHL Street Buds program features a series of skill-building exercises, drills and ball hockey games. More than 1,000 inner-city children and youth ages 6-15 years, representing community recreation centres across the city, take part in the program. The program allows participants to test their ball hockey skills and abilities while promoting teamwork, responsibility and other life skills.

The launch of the program at the Wellesley Community Centre will feature greetings, demonstrations and skill drills involving Mats Sundin and community children and youth.

Time: 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: Wellesley Community Centre, 495 Sherbourne St.
(north-east corner of Wellesley and Sherbourne Streets)
