RESPECT comes to Toronto Homes for the Aged

As part of her final report from a one year research project, Dr. Maura
McIntyre will present a Reader’s Theatre production entitled "RESPECT" to
members of the public and the Community Services Committee on Wednesday, March
9. This dramatic presentation draws people into daily life in long-term care,
and promotes both empathy and understanding of the realities of coping with
dementia.

Participants in the presentation will include staff from Castleview Wychwood
Towers, the Toronto Home for the Aged that served as the research host for this
project. Dr. McIntyre’s research and presentation explore the themes of care
and caregiving within a long-term care home, and offer unique insights into how
the complex social interactions between staff and residents promote a home-like
setting.

Date: Wednesday, March 9
Time: 9:30 a.m. (approximate)
Location: Committee Room 1, 2nd floor
Toronto City Hall
