Great kids, great drummers help celebrate Mayor’s Community Safety Awards
Mayor David Miller will present the 2005 Mayor’s Community Safety Awards at a
special ceremony in City Hall. Five organizations with programs ranging from
promoting children’s safety to graffiti removal will be honoured. Chief Justice
Roy McMurtry and representatives from Bell Canada, the program’s principal
sponsor, will also share in the award presentations.

The ceremony will feature performances by two of the award winners: a children’
s presentation to help reduce violence and victimization, and an Aboriginal
drumming demonstration.

Date: Wednesday, May 18
Times: 12:30 p.m.; 12:45 p.m. (formal ceremonies begin)
Location: Members’ Lounge, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street West

Note: Mayor Miller, Chief Justice McMurtry and the award winners will be
available for interviews following the presentation.
