Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: 2003 Toronto Report Card on Children tracks City's progress

On Tuesday, February 3, 2004 Councillor Olivia Chow, Chair of the Community
Services Committee and Children's Advocate, will release the 2003 Toronto
Report Card on Children. This report tracks changes in the condition of
children since the 2002 update, measures progress in improving their situation,
and identifies gaps in service and government actions that affect the daily
lives of Toronto's youngest citizens.

Date: Tuesday, February 3
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood Centre
1900 Davenport Rd.

The Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood Centre (DPNC) provides health, social support
and employment programs and services to a community where a greater than
average number of residents live in poverty. The DPNC supports low-income
children and families by providing prenatal, postnatal and counselling services
in its community health centre, early childhood development and parent support
through its early years programs, and access to nutritious food at its
community dining program.
