Nominations accepted for Toronto Parks and Recreation - West District 2004 Great Gardens Contest
  
Nominations are being accepted for the annual Toronto Parks and Recreation -
West District 2004 Great Gardens Contest until July 2. All gardens belonging to
residents and businesses with a street address in the following wards are
eligible for nomination: Wards 1 and 2 (Etobicoke North), Wards 3 and 4
(Etobicoke Centre), Wards 5 and 6 (Etobicoke Lakeshore), Ward 7 (York West),
Wards 11 and 12 (York South-Weston), Ward 14 (Parkdale-High Park) and Ward 17
(Davenport).

Gardens will be judged from mid-July to the end of August by a variety of
criteria including design, use of plant material, condition and maintenance,
hard landscaping, environmental practices, community contribution and
distinction. Gardens will be recognized in Residential - Traditional,
Residential - Environmental/Alternative, Commercial and Industrial, and Other
Properties categories.

The Great Gardens Contest is a successful partnership between Toronto Parks and
Recreation and the Horticultural Societies of Etobicoke, Roseland, Swansea and
Westway. The contest is sponsored by the Old Mill Inn, Plant World and James
Signs.
