Media Advisory: Toronto Fire Services volunteers with Habitat for Humanity

Toronto Fire Services Chief Bill Stewart and other senior staff and executive
members of the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Association will contribute
their time and talents to a Habitat for Humanity project in the community.

Date: Wednesday, October 6

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: 38 St. Lawrence St. (East of Cherry Street and south of King Street)

Habitat for Humanity began work at a build site in the Distillery District of
Toronto on October 1. Fifteen Fire Services staff will volunteer their time to
work on the houses, which will be given to needy families when they are
completed.

Chief Stewart has been instrumental in developing the volunteer contribution of
Toronto Fire Services personnel. He hopes that this involvement will be the
beginning of a long-standing partnership between Fire Services and Habitat for
Humanity.
