Mayor Miller forges new partnership agreement with Frankfurt

Frankfurt, Germany - Mayor of Toronto David Miller and Mayor of Frankfurt Petra
Roth signed a new, formal city partnership agreement today. The intent is to
actively promote business, trade, tourism and cultural relations between the
two cities.

"This sort of international co-operation creates productive relationships
between cities and nations. Frankfurt and Toronto have much in common,
including finance, tourism, culture, social harmony and our knowledge-based
businesses," Mayor Miller said.

Mayor Miller and Councillor Kyle Rae also met with officials from Frankfurt's
successful harm reduction program. Frankfurt's innovative and broad-based
approach to tackling drug abuse involves municipal bodies, the police and the
judiciary.

The Toronto delegation also met with Deutsche Bank and the Frankfurt Stock
Exchange, during which the delegation highlighted Toronto's strengths as the
third largest concentration of financial services in North America. In the
evening, the delegation held a dinner with travel executives and tour operators
to promote Toronto as a hub and travel destination.
