Media Advisory: Exploring Sunnybrook Base Hospital's cutting-edge EMS research
  
As part of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week celebrations, Toronto EMS and
the Sunnybrook Base Hospital Program invite the media to learn more about the
cutting-edge research being conducted locally in the field of pre-hospital
emergency medicine.

Date: Tuesday, May 18

Time: 6 to 8 p.m.

Place: Emergency Services Headquarters Atrium, 4330 Dufferin St.

Reporters are invited to hear presentations and interview researchers covering
a range of EMS research being conducted by Sunnybrook Base Hospital Program and
Toronto EMS including:

· New roles for paramedics at mass gatherings, e.g. World Youth Day 2002 and
Molson Rocks concert
· Paramedic outreach programs in community health, e.g. influenza vaccine
program
· Paramedic experiences during the SARS outbreak
· Cutting-edge research into the resuscitation of critically ill patients and
cardiac arrest victims
· Challenges of conducting research in the pre-hospital environment
