Media Advisory: Mayor Miller digs in to support Trees Across Toronto Day
Mayor David Miller will be joined by Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone, Toronto's Tree
Advocate; Councillor Case Ootes; Brenda Librecz, General Manager Parks and
Recreation; Gregor Beck from the Federation of Ontario Naturalists and John
Wilson from the Task Force to Bring Back the Don, at the Sun Valley planting
site in the Lower Don watershed to plant a tree for the first Trees Across
Toronto Day.

Sun Valley is one of six sites across the city where the public has been asked
to plant trees on May 1, Trees Across Toronto Day. For more information on

Date: Saturday, May 1
Public planting: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Official ceremony: 1 p.m.
Place: Sun Valley.

Note: There is more than one entrance to the site. The public is asked to use
the directions on the Web site. The media may prefer to access the site from
91 Bayview Ave. To use the Bayview entrance, which is only a lay-by, proceed
north on Bayview past Pottery Road and the lay-by will be on the east side just
south of Nesbitt Street and the railroad bridge. Someone will be at the lay-by
to direct you to the site.
