Media Advisory: The Kingsway illuminates with new Cavalcade of Lights displays

What: The Kingsway celebrates the inaugural lighting of the neighbourhood's new
energy efficient LED holiday lighting displays. The display includes four metre
high Christmas trees covered in hundreds of lights and 16 decorative light post
motifs.

This illumination celebration begins at 6 p.m. with announcements and
entertainment. The public is invited to participate in the festivities.

When: Wednesday, November 24, 6 p.m.

Where: The median of Bloor Street West at Prince Edward Street

Why: As part of the 38th annual Cavalcade of Lights presented by Scotiabank,
the City of Toronto is working with BIAs (Business Improvement Areas) in seven
of Toronto's famous neighbourhoods to profile Toronto's growing reputation as
one of the hottest shopping destinations in North America. This innovative
partnership includes the creation of specially designed energy-efficient
neighbourhood lighting displays and the launch of a hop-on, hop-off guided bus
tour conveniently linking the shopping, dining and entertainment experiences
offered by each of the participating neighbourhoods.
