The target: fewer trucks bound for Michigan

Date: Thursday, February 5
Time: 10 a.m.
Place: Metro Waste Paper Recovery Inc.

(East of Morningside, north of Sheppard)
2nd floor boardroom

Councillor Jane Pitfield, Chair of the City of Toronto's Works Committee, will
host a media conference to report on the progress it has made toward its 2003
waste diversion goal.

The Task Force 2010 outlined the City's aggressive waste reduction and
diversion targets two years ago: 30 per cent diversion from landfill by 2003,
60 per cent by 2006 and a vision of 100 percent by 2010.

A media tour of the state-of-the-art Metro Waste facility will follow the
announcement.
