City of Toronto golf courses open today

Three of the City of Toronto's five municipally operated golf courses opened
this morning. Weather conditions have enabled course operators to open ahead of
schedule at Don Valley, Humber Valley and Dentonia Park golf courses.

"This is good news for city golfers who are ready to hit the links," says Bill
Falkiner, supervisor of the golf courses. "And for all those people who want to
learn to play golf this year, this is a great opportunity to get an early
start."

The Tam O'Shanter course is expected to open Saturday morning and Scarlett
Woods sometime next week, depending on weather conditions.

The City operates five high calibre golf courses that appeal to all ages and
skill levels. The courses, conveniently located within City boundaries and
accessible by public transit, offer excellent facilities, reasonable fees and
exceptional instruction by City golf pros.

Residents should call the following numbers to inquire about tee-off times,
fees, golf clinics and professional instruction.
