Overnight road closure - Gardiner Expressway

City of Toronto Works and Emergency Services will be performing its annual
maintenance activities on the Gardiner Expressway this weekend to prepare it
for the winter.

In order to undertake this work safely, an overnight closure of the expressway
will be required.

The Gardiner Expressway will be closed in both directions from Carlaw Avenue to
the Humber Bridge from Saturday, November 6 at 11 p.m. to Sunday, November 7 at
noon.

Maintenance activities that will be undertaken during this closure include:

· fall catch basin cleaning (required to ensure proper drainage)
· guide rail repairs
· expressway lighting work
· expressway sign maintenance
· RESCU System maintenance.

Motorists can use Lake Shore Boulevard as an alternate route during the
closure.

Whenever possible, the public is encouraged to consider using public transit as
a convenient alternative.

For further information about these closures, check with Transportation
Services' Road Info line at 416-599-9090 or visit the City's Web site at
http://www.toronto.ca/transportation.
