Media Advisory: City of Toronto officially opens new waterfront park at Port Union Village Common

Councillor Gay Cowbourne (Ward 44 Scarborough East) and representatives of
Toronto Parks and Recreation will officially open Toronto's newest playground
and greenspace at Port Union Village Common, located at the foot of Port Union
Road.

The new fully-accessible park features a playground with swings, climbers,
spring toys, slide and a series of rubberized moguls for young families and
children to enjoy. The focal point of the park is the fountain of cascading
water, which flows into a runnel, a man-made meandering stream. The Port Union
Village Common park and playground is the first of two phases linking the
Toronto Parks system to the lakefront from Port Union Road. Future plans
include an outdoor amphitheatre, walkways and planting beds.

Date: Saturday, October 16

Time: 1 p.m.

Location: Port Union Village Common
7 Port Union Rd. (south of Lawrence Avenue East)
