Bloor West Village illuminates as part of Cavalcade of Lights
What: Bloor West Village celebrates the inaugural lighting of two new energy
efficient LED holiday lighting displays. A five metre high fountain of light
(on the corner of Jane Street and Bloor Street West) and a Santa Claus in his
sleigh (at the corner of Bloor Street West and Glendonwynne Road) will add to
the magic of this village-style community.

This illumination celebration begins at 6 p.m. with a countdown to the lighting
and a performance from the Humberside Public School choir. The public is
invited to participate in the festivities.

When: Wednesday, November 17, 6 p.m.

Where: The northwest corner of Bloor Street West and Jane Street

Why: As part of the 38th annual Cavalcade of Lights presented by Scotiabank,
the City of Toronto is working with BIAs (Business Improvement Areas) in seven
of Toronto's famous neighbourhoods to profile Toronto's growing reputation as
one of the hottest shopping destinations in North America. This innovative
partnership includes the creation of specially-designed energy-efficient
neighbourhood lighting displays and the launch of a hop-on, hop-off guided bus
tour conveniently linking the shopping, dining and entertainment experiences
offered by each of the participating neighbourhoods.
