Weekend road closures for special events
  
A series of road and lane closures will take place this weekend to accommodate
street events in the city.

Molson Indy weekend:

Weekend road closure and lane restrictions:

· Lake Shore Boulevard West, from the west side of Strachan Avenue to the east
side of Ontario Drive, will be closed from Thursday, July 8 at 9 p.m. to
Sunday, July 11 at midnight. In addition, from the west side of Ontario Drive
to the east side of British Columbia Drive, east bound and west bound traffic
will be reduced to one lane each way.

Drivers should consider the Gardiner Expressway or King Street West for
alternative east/west routes.

Celebrate Toronto weekend:

Weekend road closures:

· Five portions of Yonge Street will be closed from Friday, July 9 from 7 p.m.
to Sunday, July 11 at midnight for the Celebrate Toronto event:

Lawrence site: Yonge Street, from the south side of St. Germain Avenue/Golfdale
Road to the north side of Bedford Park Avenue.

Eglinton site: Yonge Street, from the south side of Keewatin Avenue to the
north side of Soudan Avenue, and

Eglinton Avenue East and West, from the east side of Duplex Avenue to the west
side of Holly Street.

St. Clair site: Yonge Street, from the south side of Heath Street to the north
side of St. Clair Avenue and from the south side of St. Clair Avenue to the
north side of Rosehill Avenue.

Bloor site: Yonge Street, from the south side of Bloor Street to the north side
of Wellesley Street.

Dundas site: Yonge Street, from the south side of Dundas Street to the north
side of Shuter Street.

Pedestrian Sunday - Church Street:

Sunday closure:

Church Street, from the south side of Wellesley Street East to the north side
of Alexander Street will be closed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. to allow for
pedestrian use only.

Pedestrian Sunday - Kensington:

Sunday closure:

A number of roads will be closed in the Kensington Market area to accommodate
Pedestrian Sunday. Parts of the following roads will be closed from noon to 6
p.m. on Sunday, July 11.

· Augusta Avenue
· Baldwin Street
· St. Andrew Street
· Kensington Avenue
· Wales Avenue

The public is encouraged to use public transit (TTC and GO) as a convenient,
alternative choice whenever possible.
