Downtown Yonge illuminates as part of Cavalcade of Lights
What: Downtown Yonge celebrates the inaugural lighting of the new energy
efficient LED holiday lighting display, "Urban Lights, Festive Sights." The
display includes three giant pyrotechnic-like bursts that will radiate
beautiful colours of light at Yonge-Dundas Square. Additional décor will be
added as the holiday season approaches.

This illumination celebration begins at 6 p.m. The lighting ceremony will
include live entertainment suitable for all ages. The public is invited to
participate in the festivities.

When: Friday, November 19, 6 - 8 p.m.

Where: Yonge-Dundas Square
1 Dundas St. E.

Why: As part of the 38th annual Cavalcade of Lights presented by Scotiabank,
the City of Toronto is working with BIAs (Business Improvement Areas) in seven
of Toronto's famous neighbourhoods to profile Toronto's growing reputation as
one of the hottest shopping destinations in North America. This innovative
partnership includes the creation of specially designed energy-efficient
neighbourhood lighting displays and the launch of a hop-on, hop-off guided bus
tour conveniently linking the shopping, dining and entertainment experiences
offered by each of the participating neighbourhoods.
