The bridge work at York Mills Road and other maintenance activities will
require a closure of the northbound Don Valley Parkway this weekend.
The northbound Don Valley Parkway will be closed from the Gardiner Expressway
to Highway 401 from Friday, November 12 at 11 p.m. to Monday, November 15 at 5
The southbound Don Valley Parkway will remain open completely throughout the

In addition to removing most of the construction barriers, installing lane
markings and paving work at the York Mills Bridge site, a number of other
maintenance activities will be undertaken during this northbound DVP closure
· Expressway lighting work
· Guide rail repairs
· Sweeping operations
· RESCU System maintenance work
· TTC work at the Bloor Viaduct
· Leaside Bridge maintenance work
· Riverdale Pedestrian Bridge maintenance work
· Maintenance work at Wynford Drive
This closure was originally scheduled to take place two weeks ago, however
labour disruptions resulted in the work on the bridge being completed two weeks
later than planned.
"We apologize for any inconvenience as a result of the northbound closure of
the Don Valley Parkway, " said Les Kelman, Acting General Manager,
Transportation Services. "However, with the southbound DVP and the Gardiner
Expressway remaining open all weekend, this is good news for those who plan to
attend the Royal Winter Fair - one of Toronto's great celebrations -- which is
continuing this weekend."
Motorists can use Victoria Park Avenue, Don Mills Road Leslie Street and the
Bayview extension as alternate routes for the northbound Don Valley Parkway
during this closure. Whenever possible, the public is encouraged to consider
using public transit as a convenient alternative.
