Overnight and partial closures scheduled for Eastbound Gardiner Expressway this weekend
The Works and Emergency Services Department will be performing road-resurfacing
activities on the Gardiner Expressway this weekend. In order to undertake this
work safely, a partial closure of the Gardiner Expressway will be required.

· The eastbound Gardiner Expressway (express lanes only) will be closed from
Kipling Avenue to Royal York Road on Friday, June 18 at 10 p.m. to Saturday,
June 19 at 6 a.m. Full access to the eastbound Gardiner Expressway collector
lanes, including all on and off ramps, will be maintained.

· The eastbound Gardiner Expressway will also be closed from the Lake Shore
Boulevard off-ramp to the Humber River bridge from Saturday, June 19 at 10 p.m.
to Sunday June 20 at 10 a.m.

Eastbound traffic can use Lake Shore Boulevard or The Queensway as an
alternative route and re-access the eastbound Gardiner Expressway at South
Kingsway or Jameson Avenue.

All westbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway will remain open all weekend.

"We would like to thank all motorists for their patience with the recent
closures on city expressways," said David Kaufman, General Manager,
Transportation Services Division, City of Toronto. "This is the last scheduled
closure on the Gardiner Expressway until October. Over the past few weeks, we
have resurfaced more than 50,000 square meters of roadway in order to ensure
safe travel conditions on both the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway."

For further information about these closures, check the Transportation
Services' Road Info line at 416-599-9090 or visit the City's Web site at
