Internet registration for recreation programs welcomed by Toronto residents

Toronto residents embraced using the Internet to register for Parks and
Recreation's fall and winter programs.

Internet registration for recreation programs was launched at 7 a.m. today. By
1 p.m., more than 3,000 registrations were processed on the Internet,
representing 20 per cent of all registrations.

Internet registration "Toronto FUN Online", joins touch tone,
telephone-assisted, in person, drop off, mail and fax as an additional method
of registering for the City's recreation programs. Using the Internet,
residents can browse for programs online and search for programs according to
program types, age or facility. For the fall and winter session, Toronto Parks
and Recreation offers more than 27,000 programs with a capacity of over 300,000
spots available for Toronto residents of all ages.

Details on Toronto FUN Online, as well as a tutorial to guide patrons through
the Internet registration process, can be reviewed at
http://www.toronto.ca/parks.

Registration dates for the fall/winter sessions are:

West District Friday and Saturday, September 10 and 11
North District Monday and Tuesday, September 13 and 14
South District Wednesday, September 15
East District Sunday and Monday, September 19 and 20
