Memorial Pool and Health Club turns 50!
  
Councillor Peter Milczyn (Ward 5 Etobicoke-Lakeshore) and representatives of
Toronto Parks and Recreation will officially celebrate 50 years of family fun
and fitness at Memorial Pool and Health Club.

The indoor swimming pool, originally constructed in 1954 by the Toronto
Runnymede Lions Club, was donated to the citizens of the former municipality of
Etobicoke in 1957. The health club was added on the lower level in 1960. The
facility was relocated and rebuilt on its current site in 1997 in partnership
with the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

The birthday celebration includes program demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
and an official ceremony and cake-cutting at 1 p.m.

Time: Open House 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Official Ceremony 1 p.m.
