Media Advisory: FCM report tracks Canada's ecological footprint
  

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) will release its report
"Ecological Footprints of Canadian Municipalities and Regions" on September 29
at 11 a.m.

An ecological footprint is the amount of biologically productive land and water
that communities occupy to produce all the resources they consume and to absorb
their waste. The FCM report compares the ecological footprints of 20 Canadian
municipalities.

The report and backgrounder will be posted on the FCM web site
(http://www.fcm.ca) at 11 a.m. York Region Councillor Brenda Hogg, Chair of
FCM's Quality of Life Technical Team, and consultant Mark Anielski will brief
news media via conference call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
