Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Dancers, horses and literacy among highlights at Mayor's Community Safety Awards
Mayor David Miller will present the 2004 Mayor's Community Safety Awards at a
special ceremony at City Hall. One amazing individual and four programs with
services ranging from dance presentations to horseback riding will receive the
awards. Chief Justice Roy McMurtry and representatives from Bell Canada, the
program's principal sponsor, will also take part in the award presentations.

Another ceremony highlight will be a dance presentation by Students Triumph
Over Peer Pressure (STOPP), a youth dance troupe which has been selected as a
winner for its powerful, creative message that there are alternatives to
violence for youth in Toronto.

Times: 12:30 p.m.
12:45 p.m. (formal ceremonies begin)

Mayor Miller, Chief Justice McMurtry and the award-winners will be available
