Tasty Thursdays kick-off features a taste of Mirvish musicals

Mirvish Productions brings a taste of theatre to Nathan Phillips Square for the
kick-off of Tasty Thursdays on Thursday, July 15. Starting at 12 noon, there
will be a 45-minute showcase of three popular musicals currently playing in
Toronto: Hairspray, Mamma Mia! and The Producers.

Tasty Thursdays is a delicious new addition to Nathan Phillips Square that
provides residents and tourists with an opportunity to listen to noon-hour
concerts as well as sample international cuisine. Ten restaurants each week
will bring their fare to the square with menus ranging from BBQ to sushi, stir
fry to fresh salads. Tasty Thursdays run from July 15 to August 26, from 11
a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hairspray, newly opened at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre, is piled
bouffant-high with laughter and romance. Mamma Mia! is the longest running show
in the 96-year history of the Royal Alexandra Theatre and Toronto's favourite
get-happy hit. And The Producers, the Canadian premiere of Mel Brooks' musical
adaptation of his great, classic film comedy, has won more Tony Awards than any
other show in Broadway history.

Admission to Tasty Thursdays is free and getting there couldn't be easier.
Nathan Phillips Square is located at 100 Queen St. W. Take the TTC Queen
Streetcar (501), the Yonge Line subway (exit Queen station) or the University
Line subway (exit Osgoode station).
